Why Jesus Came

When you read the title of this series you may be tempted to tell yourself, I know why Jesus came. He came to pay the penalty for the sins of people who repent and take him as their Lord and Savior. He came to make a way for man to have a relationship with a holy God. But Jesus also came to bring judgment. Jesus says he did not come to bring peace, but division. He says the division would be between those whose loyalty is to the family of God and those who prefer their earthly family. In these verses Jesus says, “I have come to cast fire on the earth.” Travis gives us the who, what, when, where, why, and how, behind this statement by Jesus. As Travis does his explanation, he takes us into the Book of Revelation.
