The Chief Duties of a True Shepherd

As the title of this series states, this series will be focusing on the responsibilities of those whom God calls to Shepherd His flock. Pastor, teacher, elder, and evangelist are positions designated as Shepherds of the local church. Travis teaches that it is the shepherd's duty to protect Gods flock by giving instruction with exhortation and admonishment. Shepherds are to teach and exhort the flock of God from a foundation of biblical, doctrinal, and theological truth. They are to do this so that Christians will love, serve, and obey God with all their heart, soul, strength, and mind. Jesus established this be done through the local church.
