The gospel that begins in the Christmas story is for us! If we truly understand our sinful position before a holy God, then the coming of the one who will save us from our sins should cause us to overflow with rejoicing. The greatest gift we could possibly imagine, is the gift of righteousness that is not our own, and having the wrath of God removed from us. This is the exact gift that God offers; salvation to sinful man.
