James tells us that, “…each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire. Then desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin and sin when it is fully grown brings forth death.” This is exactly what we see in the first sin, and it is still at the foundation for all of our sin today. But we are also reminded that even in the midst of a world full of sin, there is hope! In the end, God’s word teaches us that He triumphs over Satan’s lies. And just like we share in the effects of that initial sin, we can also share in Christ’s triumph over it.
