It is only because of the suffering of Christ on our behalf that Resurrection Sunday is so wonderful and worth celebrating.

Easter is today celebrated with grass, pastel colors, and a furry animal that somehow is involved with eggs. The true basis of Easter is much deeper - founded in the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross to pay for our sins. A right understanding of Jesus submission to the plan of the Father to sacrifice himself for sin is a deep and moving demonstration of grace which should drive us to respond.
