Jesus Christ: Fully God and fully man.

Travis continues to show us the sovereignty of God in the lives of Joseph and Mary. It was ultimately God who decreed that there would be a census that would send Joseph and Mary to Bethlehem for Jesus’s birth. And, it is the physical birth of Jesus Christ that reminds us of the full humanity of Jesus. This is a critical point of the gospel. Jesus Christ was fully God, but He was also fully man. The gospel story begins in Bethlehem with Jesus’ birth, because only one who is fully man can be a substitute for man. There is no gospel apart from the humanity of Christ.
