Forgiveness is a work of God alone
Peter was not perfect, but Peter is forgiven. But forgiveness didn’t just come to Peter nor does it just come to us. It requires something from us: repentance. Peter is a model of repentance and he demonstrated his sincerity through his changed life. Peter denied Jesus three times, just as Jesus predicted.
