Finding Hope in the Christmas Story, Part 2 | A Christ Centered Christmas
Jesus birth initiates God’s plan of redemption.
The birth of Jesus truly is the beginning of the Gospel’s good news regarding our redemption through Jesus. In fact, even in Mary’s motherly care in wrapping baby Jesus and laying Him in the manger at the beginning of His life, she parallels what happens at the end of Jesus’ life. After Jesus died, Joseph of Arimathea took his lifeless body and wrapped it in cloth and laid Jesus in a tomb. We see in the birth and death of Jesus the reminder of Jesus humanity. Our savior was truly God, and truly man. The perfect and holy God put repentant sinners’ sins on God’s perfect son on a cross and punished Him for those sins, giving repentant believers Jesus’ righteousness, thus allowing reconciliation with God and entry into eternity with God.
