How to Grow Strong in the Faith, Part 4 | How to Grow Strong in the Faith
God sent His son to be the propitiation for our sins.
We continue to learn about the resurrection of Jesus. Why did Jesus have to die? Christ died to satisfy the just wrath of God for our sins and to make propitiation for the sins of the people, Hebrews 2:17. The word propitiation means, to appease the wrath of. It means to satisfy the demands of an angry deity, to satisfy the demands of divine justice, to satisfy the demands of divine holiness. “God put forward his one and only Son as a propitiation by his blood,” Romans 3:25. God sent His son to be the propitiation for our sins. Theologians call this, Penal Substitutionary Atonement.” This is what the Bible teaches.
