Is your hospitality driven by pride?
After, confronting the pride of the Pharisees’ guests and teaching them a lesson in humility, Jesus turned his attention to his host. Following the same teaching, ‘to be exalted one must first be humble and those who are prideful will be humbled,’ Jesus explains how the hosts’ hospitality is given for guests who can reciprocate. Hospitality can be a sign of pride or self-love, but hospitality should be through humility and love for all neighbors.
